Sadly summer

Tue Jul 28, 2009, 7:14 AM
What a summer it's been. Discovered one person I'm a fan of (and admire) has rare form of cancer and another died suddenly. Family wedding after hearing about death, then argument with relative the next day over our new dog (will refer to her as Mrs Peta from now on), family party, next day another family party with Mrs Peta in foul mood. Mr and Mrs Peta thankfully went home after Mr ranted on about my cousins keeping the dog chained up outside so it wouldn't run out into the road (they live out in the country, they're nice people). Two days later we managed to get away to stay in caravan, nice to finally get away from it all.
Anyway, that was June. July, well, it started off waiting for cousin to have her baby. She had baby girl a week ago, on 20th. Also lots of stress trying to set up a bank account because I don't have proof of address. The only way to do it seems to be to register to vote, but the local list for our county doesn't get updated until the end of October, so I have to wait till then to set up account. As I'll be getting some money in the next month or two, mum's agreed to set up account in her name so I can have spending money for travelling to England for baby's christening in September or October.

Stuck

Tue May 26, 2009, 9:10 AM
So, looks like I’m going to be stuck here for most of the summer. We were supposed to go away to the seaside, where mum’s sister has a caravan. We had asked to use it from 29th until Friday or Saturday, after a family wedding because mum has that week off. Everything was set until mum went to the dentist last week because of pain, she has an abscess. After a week of waiting to see if some antibiotics will have some effect, he says he has to now wait another month to see if he can remove the tooth. The appointment is set for the 29th, the day we’re supposed to be going away, which means probably only three days away as other family could use the caravan the next weekend. To add to this, mum usually works the first Sunday of every month as well as the day before, and as she’s only taking a week off, it could mean she’s back at work that weekend. Either way, we could be out on Friday, meaning three days if mum is able for it after having her tooth removed. Last year we went and had four days there, which was just enough, but three days is just a weekend, not really worth going. I’m stuck here until we go to England for the christening of my cousin’s first baby, don’t know when that will be though. Looks like it’s going to be another long boring summer, so I suppose I'll be able to add more here as I won't really be doing much else.

We have a new dog now, her name is Trinnie (we didn't pick the spelling), and she's the sister of Millie, a family friend's dog. Both girls are westie mixes, but thanks to my mother not really knowing different breeds, I'm not sure what the other breed is. Anyway, we adopted Trinnie because it wasn't working out where she was, and our friend asked us first. We've had her for a few weeks now. Things were okay, still settling down with our first dog (Trinnie wasn't socialised much). Today however, she decided to chew through my digital camera's USB cable, so I have no way of downloading pics to the computer for now. It's disappointing, and I'm trying to get a new one, as my cousin's wedding is in two months and I don't want to go to another wedding with no camera. I can take still shots with my DVD camcorder, but each disc is only 30 mins at normal quality, so I can't take many, and the quality is lower than my other camera. I just hope it doesn't come to that, I wanted to try getting some decent pics at the wedding, improve my skills more. I'll be disappointed if I can't get a cable, it means no more pics until I can get a new one, which won't be until I get the money dad left me (and that could be in a few months or a year).

Apologies & spam warning

Thu Jan 29, 2009, 4:05 AM
I got a spam message on one of my deviations yesterday, it had a link in it which says 'rofl this may be relevant to your interests'. Apparently, if you click this link it uses your dA account to send this same message to random dA accounts you may not have visited, and you get marked as a spammer. I hid it, as I knew it to be spam. Not knowing exactly what it was, I clicked it, so I would know what it is. It was stupid, yes, I know about the risks with strange links. I don't know why I did it, just wanted to know exactly what it was. I will NEVER click another suspicious link again now.
This may have caused spam from my account, and if you have gotten spam from me, please believe this was not intentional and I did not post it, it was a result of my stupidity.

I've just seen this posted in :iconprincess-peachie:'s journal, and I now know what it is. If you get one of these comments, please don't click the link, instead hide the comment and report it as spam.
